SITE HISTORY & PLANNING
The site was initially a small inert recycling facility under a permit from Test Valley Borough Council. In 2007, a five- year temporary permission was granted by Hampshire County Council for inert recycling on a restricted area of the site.
The initial phase of the site was acquired by Raymond Brown for recycling with an option for an additional area of land. Following the granting of permission for an MRF on the site in 2009, the option was exercised and the wider site development commenced. The project was part funded by WRAP.
In 2012, following discussions with the landowners, additional land to the north and west of the MRF site was purchased with a view to achieving planning for further recycling operations.
In June 2013, permission was granted to install new offices on the land west of the MRF. Further permission granted in 2013 permitted a new weighbridge and office/welfare unit for site staff to be constructed.
