A303 Materials Recovery Facility

The A303 Enviropark is the head office and central materials recovery facility for Raymond Brown Waste Solutions. The site is strategically located off the A303/A34 interchange near Andover. The site accepts waste from both trade and commercial vehicles as well as Raymond Brown’s own skip and Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) vehicles and also processes the commingled transfer waste from both our Nursling and Chilton recycling facilities.

SKIP & RORO HIRE

Raymond Brown operate a skip and RoRo hire service out of the facility which serves a 15-mile radius including Basingstoke, Winchester, Andover and Newbury. Typical customers include major developers and construction contractors, local builders and commercial and industrial customers. This service generates c30,000 tonnes per annum of inert and active waste streams.

ACTIVE TIPPING

The A303 Materials Recovery Facility also generates active tipping revenues and volumes from third parties.

ACTIVE WASTE PROCESSING

The A303 Materials Recovery Facility receives commingled active waste from the Nursling and Chilton Recycling Facilities which is processed through the trommel and picking line.

Recovered materials from active waste include:

• Wood
• Plasterboard
• Metal
• Plastics
• Cardboard
• Carpet

Non-recovered items from the picking line are bulker hauled to the Oakleaf Materials Recovery Facility near Heathrow for processing into a Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) for energy production.  This contract diverts approximately 5,000 tonnes per annum and 11% of landfill avoidance for the facility.

INERT TIPPING

The A303 Materials Recovery Facility benefits from a large open aggregate recycling area which enables an efficient inert tipping and processing operation. The soil and stones are screened utilising to recover stone and produce a screened soil. Stone and concrete is processed into a 6f5 recycled aggregate for resale.
